Meow everyone, I'm here again, Miu the Spanish Cat!
Humans are confused when they assume we only like cat food, meat, perhaps cheese and sauces... Gourmet cats like us can also appreciate vegetables, but not the kind of forage humans usually stack in their fridges. We are speaking of delicious herbs, healthy for the well functioning of our digestive tract, or easier to say, to go to the litter box.
For harvesting, we must find a good plant in the surroundings. Living in a small flat reduces the choices to get them. We may find pots in high places, behind closed windows or doors, the yard... Humans know their high culinary value and hide them from us, so persist! With a loudly "meow, meow, meow...", maybe even your human will reach you the pot to make you shut up.
If your human hasn't got them look between the neighbors, and be sure you don't get caught! Their plants are a good reason as other to start territorial conflicts between them. If anyone wants to blame you, try you have seen a mole making his house in the pot, or a worm plague devouring the plant... something credible to get some distraction, because it's now when the human notices your paw prints in the soil... Run!
Once you have it, you need the appropriate kitchen furniture to make a good cooking. And there are as many ways of preparing herbs as kinds of them, it's your choice. With the plant in the photos, I used my favorite stool to jump over the plant once an again, I chewed the herb to extract all the juice, and finally made some spaghettis of it. After working so hard I went to get some cat food... I deserved a little dessert. ; )

Our mom put in a new bay window for us to lay around in and bask in the sun. At our house we call this a kitty pile. Mute (pronounced moo-tee) is on the left. Zido is in the middle and I am on the right. My name is Scotiae and I am the one who's in control around here.

Plants, botany and me
Now many of you cats out there may think that life "on the inside" (of a house or an apartment, that is) is boring. But let me tell you something; there are many interesting things inside a house if you look closely!
Take me, for instance. I have taken up botany as a hobby. As you can see, we have some very interesting species in my house. I am perticularly fond of this funny-looking cactus-thingy. And when I'm tired and kinda sleepy, I can sit in the pot and lean against my cactus-friend and not fall over even if I should nod off for a second.

The Ultimate Cat Housing
Cats need a place to stay, a room of their own, even if it isn't a room with a view. A cat carrier stack makes a great condo, and apparently, Eddie cat stomping around with his big feet doesn't faze Gertie cat in the slightest. Also, this housing is portable (except, you often wind up at the Vet!)
You might think a bookcase is for books only. You have to think again. If you are tiny and extra cute (as I am), a bookcase is the perfect place to hang out.
Perfect because you can annoy your humie and hide for the big studly Hector at the same time.

Beware of printers!
This is agent Elvis speaking. As you know it is hard work patrolling the whole world. Constantly you have to be on your paws to check what the humies are up to.
This is a warning to all fellow cat agents. BEWARE OF PRINTERS!
I have a bad feeling about this ominous device. It is attached to a computer and is therfore often located near the computer. I am yet to discover its true purpose, but i'm working on it.
I recommend the following precautions:
NEVER let your guard down. Don't let this this devellish machine do its work without close surveillance (weird noises alert you to its activity).
BE ALERT – everything emerging from this machine is a target. Claws first, questions later … better safe than sorry.

Closed doors ...and how to prevent them from happening!
Under no circumstances accept closed doors that separate you from your human. At all times you have a right to know what your human is doing.
If by accident you have been placed on the wrong side of a door you need to make your human aware of this ASAP so he/she can remedy the situation immediately. Loud meows and scratching on the door should be sufficient to get your humans attention.
If this is ignored you need to take more drastic measures: Make a sound as if you are going to throw up. All humans in a 50 feet radius can hear this sound. This sound can also be heard through closed doors. The "puke sound" will always result in your human's immediate presence.

Inspection of your house
A house usually has unlimited possibilities for suitable sleeping spots. Every possibility no matter how theoretical should be investigated and tested. Cardboard boxes, cupboards, drawers, couches and beds are obvious localities, but places such as old slippers (size 11 or higher) open gym bags or kitchen cupboards should not be overlooked.
The house should further be investigated for all possible toys. An old sock can represent several hours of entertainment if you get your claw on a loose end and unravel a couple of miles worth of yarn. You human will love to tidy up after your play.

The Art of Muddy Paws
I consider myself somewhat of an expert on muddy paws: It's a cat guy thing I guess, since the lady cats of the house do not excel in this discipline.
A cat truly immersed in this discipline will after much contemplation and practice be ready to understand the deeper subtleties of the 'Art of Muddy Paws'.
Some time ago, in what I call my 'minimalist phase' - I created an installation named: "Empty space - Earth & Paws in two Dimensions".
For a novice cat, it might be interesting to hear a bit about the specifics of the creative process: The true practitioner of 'The Art of Muddy Paws' is not dependent on the availability of mud outside. At a certain point, one becomes very discerning about the exact qualities of mud and will want to make ones own mud.
In this case, I sought out a special location with dry quite sandy earth. As a Persian, I am naturally endowed with magnificent tufts on my paws that function as excellent brushes. I made sure to collect just the right amount of dirt. I then proceeded to the already set stage of my installation. In this case the kitchen. Conveniently, there was a dish with water in the sink - it's all about timing and meticulous planning. The right amount of water was mixed with the dirt - and here comes the crucial event where a mere discipline becomes art. In one simple jump, I place a muddy paw on the cabinet door and two paws on the carpet.
I am particularly happy with this subtle piece of work where the earthy colours of mud stand in beautiful contrast to the different textures of white. I also like the simple 3 paw prints involved - many artists tend in their initial work to overdo the number of paw tracks - but this is all a part of the process of perfecting ones art.
I like to consider 'Art of Muddy Paws' as cat calligraphy - though if course much more complex than human calligraphy.
